Route 8, Downs breezer & Island Coaster - Embankment Road closed, buses diverting via Brading to reach St Helens.
The Embankment Road has been closed between Bembridge and St Helens we believe this is an emergency closure due to a water leak.
As a result, the route 8 buses towards Newport will divert from St Helen's, along Carpenters Road (past Oasis), through Brading, Marshcombe Shute, through to Bembridge (past the Airport) then Steyne Road, then serve the village loop and head to Crossways continuing the normal route.
The diversion will operate in both directions until further notice.
The Downs Breezer and Island Coaster will follow the same diversion apart from serving Crossways.
Due to the lengthy diversion the route 8's are seeing delays of approximately 20 - 30 minutes.
Bus stops between The Vine in St Helens and Ducie Avenue and Bembridge Church cannot be served at this time.
