Women's recruitment day - drive for us in 2026!

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be a bus driver - or you’ve been thinking about a fresh start for 2026 - Southern Vectis is opening its doors for a special Female Recruitment Day on Tuesday 2 December, and you’re warmly invited.

The event will take place at the Newport Bus Station Travel Shop from 10am to 2pm, and the atmosphere is set to be friendly, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. Whether you’re seriously considering a new career or just curious to learn more, this is the perfect chance to explore what bus driving is really like.

Meet the Women Already Driving the Way Forward

One of the highlights of the day is the chance to chat with Southern Vectis’ own female driving team. These are women who’ve gone through the training, joined the company, and are now out on the road every day—so they know exactly what it’s like.

You’ll be able to ask anything:

• What’s the training like?
• What’s the work–life balance?
• What’s the best part of the job?
• How did they feel when they first started?

No question is too small, too big, or too silly. This is a relaxed space to get honest, real answers.

If you’re curious about the process of becoming a qualified bus driver, Southern Vectis’ driver training team will be there too. They’ll walk you through how training works, what support you’ll get, and what the path to your new career could look like.

Pop in at any time between 10am and 2pm, grab a hot drink, and have an informal conversation. There’s no pressure and no commitment—just a chance to discover whether bus driving might be the fresh start you’re looking for.
