Introducing travel alert push notifications from Monday 13 January

We have a great new feature coming soon for our app, travel alert push notifications!
This new feature will notify you if there are any new disruptions that affect routes and stops that you have favourited in our app, plus any network wide announcements. These come straight from our app to your phone as a push notification.
You can turn this feature on and off in the app menu.
You won’t get travel alert notifications for every single route, just ones that you have favourited. For example, if you have Route 1 favourited, you won’t get notifications that affect any other routes, just the Route 1. This way, you will only receive notifications that are relevant to you.
You can still access the service updates section in our app but with these new push notifications, you no longer have to go into this menu to find out about disruptions.
How do I turn on notifications in the app?
Firstly, you will need to download the Southern Vectis app, create an account and enable notifications.
To enable notifications, open the app and open the menu from the top left-hand corner and select ‘Settings’.
Under the ‘User Account’ section, go to ‘Notification settings’.
Press the toggle on ‘Personalised travel alerts and disruptions’ to turn on travel alert notifications.
For notifications to work you must have a favourite a route or stop?
There are several ways to favourite a route. You can hit the star in the top right-hand corner when viewing a particular route’s timetable to favourite it. Or from the home screen, when you select a bus to track, this also sets it as a favourite.
To favourite a stop, either select the bus stop on the map and hit the star on the right-hand side, or you can select the stop whilst you’re looking at a timetable and do the same.
How do I start receiving notifications?
Once you have turned on notifications, you will start to receive travel alert push notifications for any routes and stops you have favourited. You won’t automatically get travel alert notifications for every single route/stop, just ones that you have favourited.
