Route 12

A delightful trip from Newport to Alum Bay across rural Wight. Taking in pretty quaint villages including Carisbrooke, Shorwell, Brightsone and Mottistone. See beautiful landscapes, thatch cottages and some great pubs along the way. This routes has some of the island popular heritage sites including Carisbrooke Castle, Mottistone Manor and Dimbola Museum. Hop off to visit the quieter secluded beaches and catch the surf at Compton or discover the caves at Freshwater Bay. 

Route 8

A popular route between Newport and Ryde and is the route to get if you want to visit Seaview, St Helens and Bembridge. The easterly point of the island is tranquil with sandy beaches, harbours and marvellous marine life. You might even spot a seal off the coast if you’re lucky. With some delicious seafood available as well as great foody places with great views it is a great place to relax. Route 8 also takes you through the Arreton Valley where you can visit Amazon World, Arreton Barns and Robin Hill Adventure Park.

Route 3

Running from Ryde to Newport along the east coast of the island. This journey takes you along the Bay area of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor. In Sandown you can visit Dinosaur Isle or The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary. With sea views and views of Bonchurch Downs before going in land passed the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary to the pretty village of Godshill where you can hop off for a cream tea and be a giant for the day while walking around the model village.

Route 6

A route from Newport to the south point of the island taking in villages of Chillerton, Gatcombe, Chale, Niton and Whitwell before ending in Ventnor. This routes takes you to the land of imagination – Blackgang Chine. The villages along the way have some excellent walks and don’t miss the annual scarecrow festival in Chillerton. Walk from Ventnor to Steephill Cove one of the islands best kept secrets.
