We are getting into the festive spirit - by sporting Christmas jumpers this December in aid of charity.

Our colleagues are raising money for our charity Isle of Wight Search & Rescue (WightSAR) - and pulling on the seasonal sweaters is our latest fundraising initiative.

“Our drivers are a festive bunch and - from Friday 17 December to Saturday 25 December - they’ll be donning colourful Christmas jumpers in aid of this very worthy cause,” said Southern Vectis general manager Richard Tyldsley..

“We thought this would be the perfect time to help WightSAR. The charity’s volunteers make themselves available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year - supporting Hampshire Constabulary and other agencies in searches for high risk, vulnerable, missing persons here on the Isle of Wight.

“We’d like to raise as much money as possible -  and we’re inviting customers to get into the Christmas spirit too.

“Representatives from WightSAR will be handing out mince pies at bus stops on 17 and 18 December between 10am and 2pm each day. Our customers will then have an opportunity to donate to our chosen charity - or they can do so when they visit the Southern Vectis travel shops in Newport and Ryde.”
