Route 6/7/12/38/39/Summer Links- Carisbrooke Road closed from 10:30 on the 8th of June until the 16th June

During this time, buses towards Newport will be diverting from Carisbrooke High Street, via Cedar Hill, Whitepit Lane, St Johns Road and Church Litten to reach NBS. Lukely Terrace, Simeon Monument, and Drill Hall Road towards Newport can not be served.

Buses from Newport will use St James Street and Trafalgar Road and left into Carisbrooke Road. Drill Hall Road bus stop can not be served towards Carisbrooke.

Route 8/22/68 - The Fighting Cocks and Apse Heath bus stops are out of use until further notice.

Due to roadworks and TTL blocking the The Fighting Cocks and Apse Heath bus stops, they are out of use until further notice.

Temp stops are located nearby.

Route 8/22/68- Newport Road closed from 06:30 on the 1st of June until 17:30 on the 12th of June.

Buses towards Ryde will divert from Winford via Canteen Road, Whiteley Bank, Shanklin (like a Route 2), Landguard Road and then loop around to serve Lake Morrisons.

This diversion will operate in both directions. Stops between Apse Heath Crossroads and Sandown Airport can not be served.

Route 8/59/71/Downs Breezer/Island Coaster - Nettlestone Manor bus stops are out of use until further notice.

18th May 2026 onwards

Nettlestone Manor bus stops are out of use until further notice. This is due to the fact that they are in between temporary traffic lights.

Your nearest stops are Elm Close or Isle of Wight Distillery.

Route 2/3/8/24- Fitzroy Street, Sandown closed from 08:00 until 16:00 on the 9th of June

Route 2/3/8/24- Fitzroy Street, Sandown closed from 08:00 until 16:00 on the 9th of June.

During this time, buses towards Ryde will divert past the turn for Melville Street and use Station Avenue to reach Sandown.

Melville Street and Fitzroy Street bus stops can not be served. Buses towards Newport are not affected.

The Downs Breezer- Briddlesford Road closed from 09:30-15:30 on the 9th, 10th and 11th of June

The Downs Breezer- Briddlesford Road closed from 09:30-15:30 on the 9th, 10th and 11th of June.

During this time, the Downs Breezer will divert from Station Road, Whiterails Road, Staplers Road, Long Lane to continue normal route from Robin Hill.

Route 2- Merstone Lane closed from 08:00 until 16:00 on the 12th of June

Route 2- Merstone Lane closed from 08:00 until 16:00 on the 12th of June.

During this time buses will divert via Rookley. Bus stops between RSPCA Shelter and Blackwater Quarry can not be served. This diversion will operate in both directions.

Route 5/9/N5/N9 - Fairlee Road Closure & Diversion due to Isle of Wight Festival 2026

17th - 22nd Jun 2026

Due to the Isle of Wight Festival, Fairlee Road will become one way heading in to Newport only.

Route 9/N9-
From 10:00 on Wednesday 17th June until approx 16:00 on Monday 22nd June, all route 9 buses towards Ryde will operate via Staplers.

Also, all buses from Ryde to Newport will operate via Staplers only, between 08:55 and 19:20 each day of the festival starting from the Wednesday when the road closes. Outside of these times Route 9 will operate via Medina on journeys that would normally do so, but will be unable to serve bus stops at Whitehouses or Hillside. Please use Route 9F during the day to reach the IOW Festival bus station.

Route 5/N5-
From 10:00 on Wednesday 17th June until approx 16:00 on Monday 22nd June, all route 5 buses towards towards East Cowes will divert from Coppins Bridge via Staplers Road, Whiterails to Wootton High Street, Lushington Hill to reach East Cowes. Buses towards Newport will use Fairlee Road however may be delayed so please allow time for your journey. Whitehouses and Hillside bus stops will not be served during the festival.

Fairlee Road will also close in both directions each evening around 11pm on the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the festival to allow festival goers to leave the site safely. This will be communicated to customers each evening when the closure occurs.

Binfield Corner towards Ryde will also be out of use for the 9F.
