Our coaching operation is marketed through the use of three trading names, these being companies that Southern Vectis has purchased over the years. The coaches therefore carry three different brands and are themselves a mixture of different types.
There are three chassis types, these being Dennis Javelin, Volvo B10M, and DAF SB types. The bodies are from a variety of different coachbuilders too, with a mixture of Plaxton, Van Hool and Ikarus products.
These coaches tend to operate school routes, and undertake private hire work at other times. They are also used for driver training. Because we train to 'automatic' licence standard, 597 is usually used for training, with 511 used as a back up, these being the two automatic coaches that meet the current driving test requirements. 596 is used for 'manual' licence training from time to time (for example when we are training engineering staff). 594 and 595 used to be our Training vehicles.
