This magnificent beach is part of the stunning Sandown Bay; it is rightly famous for its sandy beach and safe bathing areas, suitable for all members of the family. The clear water laps onto the gently sloping shore and at low tide there are warm shallow pools to play in. There are plenty of facilities nearby, including toilets, amusements and a pitch & putt, and of course refreshments. You can hire sun loungers, deck chairs and sun umbrellas.

The Bay area also has pedaloes, canoes and jet skis for hire, (jet skis can only be used in designated zones). For your additional safety this beach is one of many patrolled by lifeguards.
There is a lovely flat walk from Shanklin to adjoining Lake and Sandown beaches, or there is a magnificent cliff top walk linking the towns, with stunning views over the Bay area.
