If your breath isn’t taken away when you see this spectacular Bay, with its crescent shaped sandy beach running from blinding white Culver cliff, to the imposing Dunnose Head, someone should eat their hat! Stretching from Yaverland, Sandown beach is rightly popular with locals and tourists alike, the sand gently slopes to the sea, and when the tide goes out there is a huge beach to enjoy, with warm shallow pools for children to play in.

You can hire deck chairs and there are plenty of shops selling ice cream, the beach is close to the town and all of its amenities. For your additional safety and peace of mind, this beach is patrolled by lifeguards. There is a lovely flat walk from Sandown to adjoining Lake and Shanklin beaches, or there is a magnificent cliff top walk linking the towns, with stunning views over the Bay area.
