Beach guide
The island is a beach lover’s paradise
with over 60 miles of award winning
sandy beaches to explore, with safe
swimming for all the family.
From firm favourites such as Ryde, Sandown, and Shanklin to the
quieter and more secluded bays, from traditional sandy beaches to
rockpools and fossil-rich coves, there’s really something for everyone.
You can also rest assured that the beaches are clean -
the prestigious Keep Britain Tidy Blue Flag was awarded to Sandown and Ventnor, recognising their clean water, litter-free shores, good facilities and high standards of safety. Also, 12 beaches have been given Quality Coast Awards.

Many of our beaches are patrolled by
lifeguards, for your additional safety and peace of mind. And don’t forget to
splash on the sun screen!
